We know what you’re thinking – it gets earlier every year – but it’s time to crack out the old toy box and indulge in some slink-tastic retro fun.

Created in the 1940s, the Slinky has become one of the most iconic toys ever.

To celebrate 70 years of not being able to get it to go down the stairs like they do on the TV, we thought we’d run down the worst to best old school toys.

10. My Little Pony

First Appeared: 1983

Background: Developed from Hasbro’s previous ‘My Pretty Pony’ line, these littler (and presumably less pretty) ponies became the favourite girly toy of the 1980s.

In Retrospect: Girl’s toys really were the pits back then. No lasers or karate chop action or anything.
